Hi! I’m Nicola, the proud founder of Sniff Track Trail and a passionate advocate for the benefits of scent work for pet dogs. My journey into the fascinating world of scent detection began over three years ago when I started training my own dog in scent work. What started as a fun way to mentally stimulate my pet quickly turned into a rewarding passion that has transformed the way I understand dogs and their amazing abilities.

My Qualifications and Experience

I am a certified Scent Dog Detection Handler and Instructor, having completed my training with the College of Scent Dogs UK. Through their City and Guilds program, I gained both hands-on experience and in-depth theoretical knowledge about the science of scent detection and the most effective training techniques. This certification has equipped me to work with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, helping them to unlock their full potential through the power of their nose.

I’ve worked with a wide variety of dogs, from those just starting out in scent work to more advanced scent detection dogs. Each dog has a unique way of learning, and I tailor my approach to suit their individual needs. Watching a dog’s confidence grow as they master new scent challenges is incredibly fulfilling, and it’s why I’m so passionate about what I do.

My Philosophy

At SniffTrackTrail, my philosophy is simple: dogs are happiest when they’re able to engage in natural, instinctive behaviors. Scent work not only taps into their incredible sense of smell but also provides essential mental and physical stimulation. Whether your dog is shy, energetic, or anxious, scent work offers a productive and enjoyable outlet for them to thrive.

I believe that every dog, regardless of age or breed, can benefit from scent work. My goal is to create a safe, positive environment where dogs and their owners can grow together through this enriching activity. I also emphasise the importance of a strong bond between you and your dog, which is why my training programs are designed to be fun and interactive for both of you.
